TCC TEXAS CANNABIS CENTERS

Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders

Added to TX CUP: 2015

Diagnosis Context

Epilepsy is a heterogeneous group of neurological disorders defined by recurrent unprovoked seizures. The CUP-relevant diagnosis is the specific epilepsy syndrome and seizure type as documented by a treating neurologist, not the colloquial label.

CUP Eligibility

Epilepsy was among the original qualifying diagnoses when the Texas Compassionate Use Program was created.

Evidence Base for Low-THC Therapy

The cannabidiol literature in pediatric epilepsy has driven much of the public conversation, but Texas’s CUP authorizes low-THC products defined by a statutory cap. The certifying physician will discuss what the evidence supports in your specific syndrome, in the context of your current anti-seizure medication regimen.

What a CURT Physician Will Look For

Pediatric Note

Many epilepsy patients are children. Pediatric intake requires legal-guardian involvement throughout the visit and the consent flow. The physician will coordinate with the treating pediatric neurologist.

Step-by-Step Booking

  2. Confirm Texas residency and review the records list with our intake team
